Van der Poel and Philipsen combat again from sickness and damage to bid for third Alpecin-Deceuninck Paris-Roubaix win


Alpecin-Deceuninck have dominated the earlier two editions of Paris-Roubaix, having locked out the highest two positions on the rostrum on the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux.

On each events, Mathieu van der Poel secured the win with a long-range solo transfer whereas teammate Jasper Philipsen sprinted dwelling to take second place. This time round, the pair head into the race nursing sickness and damage, although each riders mentioned on Friday that they hope to be at full health for Sunday’s race.
